Our Mission
Sun Run Las Vegas is a community-driven 5K run and walk dedicated to skin cancer prevention, early detection, and sun-safety education in Southern Nevada. Organized in partnership with the Las Vegas Dermatology Foundation, the event brings together physicians, patients, families, runners, and community partners around one clear mission: Save lives by preventing skin cancer before it starts.

The Las Vegas Dermatology Foundation aims to bridge gaps in dermatologic care and awareness, bringing cutting-edge treatments, preventive education, and accessible resources to the Las Vegas community.

Dr. Cotter and Dr. Greenberg are proud to be working with Elizabeth Tchernogorova, a fourth-year medical student with a deep passion for dermatology, to help establish and grow the Sun Run Las Vegas as a community-driven initiative.

Where
The event takes place at Sunset Park in Las Vegas, Nevada, providing a spacious outdoor setting for the race, community partners, and on-site health and wellness activities.
What
The Sun Run is a community race and wellness event that combines physical activity with public health outreach. In addition to the run, the event includes Mother’s Day–themed activities, skincare and HydraFacial raffles, and Solidity Studio Pilates class pass giveaways, along with local vendors, free professional skin cancer screenings, official race shirts, and finisher medals.
Why
All proceeds benefit the Las Vegas Dermatology Foundation, supporting skin cancer awareness, education, and access to dermatologic care in Southern Nevada. By pairing an outdoor fitness event with preventive skin care, screenings, and Mother’s Day wellness programming, the Sun Run emphasizes early detection, sun safety, and self-care for individuals and families.
When
The Sun Run takes place on Sunday, May 10. Participant check-in begins at 7:00 AM, and the run/walk starts promptly at 8:00 AM.
